CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Call it a speedy delivery! A mother gives birth in her car on I-75.
Angie Franklin, Reginald Tucker and their new baby boy, Jacquez, are now resting comfortably at Peace River Medical Center in Port Charlotte.
On Wednesday, the couple was traveling from Fort Myers to their home in Lakeland, when they got a big surprise.
"I got on the highway in the middle of nowhere and she said the baby's coming," says the baby's father, Reginald Tucker. "We were doing like 80mph and I saw the baby's head and pulled over to the side of the road and called 911."
Franklin gave birth before paramedics arrived. They transported the family to the hospital.
"I'll never forget it," says Franklin.
Franklin says she was also born on the side of a road, somewhere on Route 60.
