Gas prices continue to fall

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Sometimes it may seem like a mistake. You drive past a gas station and see a price that's too good to be true. What if it's not? Some drivers are finding prices like we haven't seen in a while.

Dodge's Store on Bayshore Rd. in North Fort Myers is serving up regular unleaded gas for $3.13 a gallon. That price is 16-cents less than another gas station next door.

"It's pretty awesome. It's too bad not anywhere else could be like this," says Nicholas Vaughn. He's one many who lucked into cheap gas today.

Perhaps this gas station is ahead of the curve when it comes to prices. The average in Southwest Florida is $3.50 a gallon.

Trina Strickland also took advantage of the cheaper prices and says, "I don't know how they're able to do it compared to everybody else. It makes you wonder, but I'm just glad."

The cheaper price doesn't come without a hitch. Once word gets out, more cars start to fill the lot.

"They all want to come here when they see this," says Vaughn. "I'm sure everyone that's coming here is calling their buddies and they're like 'Yo get over here.'"

Paying close to $3.00 a gallon is certainly better than paying close to $4.00, but for most even these lower prices are still to steep.

Travis Whitaker is hoping the price continues to drop. He says "I'd be happy if it went to $2.50. That's not super good, but I'd be happy with that."

The last time we saw prices that low was back in March... of last year!

Keep a look out, we could see prices drop like crazy in the next month! People out of jobs, and not traveling as much the price will drop! We may see under $2.50 before long!
