HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. - Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is telling WINK News they are investigating a deadly crash involving a personal water craft. Michael Pool, 27, of Tampa was killed in the crash.
On Friday, Poole and his friend were riding their PWCs on the Caloosahatchee River at Banna Creek, in Hendry County.
Poole's friend, Matt Verhusen of Ohio, lost control of his PWC and it went airborne. The PWC landed on top of Poole, causing severe head trauma. Poole died at Lee Memorial Hospital Saturday, one day after the accident.
Gabriella Ferraro from FWC says Law enforcement officers with the FWC are investigating the death. The cause of the accident is still unclear.
An autopsy will be performed on Poole.
