NORTH NAPLES, Fla. - The Barron Collier High School Band is gearing up to play at that Sarah Palin rally.

"It's really cool cause it's like a once in a lifetime kind of experience to go and play for a presidential rally and we're all really excited," band Co-Captain Stehpanie Karaczun tells WINK News. Monday afternioon, the 200-member band will play for Republican Vice-Presidential Nominee, Governor Sarah Palin. They will be playing at her road to victory rally in Southwest Florida.

"We're the pre-entertainment before Sarah Palin arrives and our drum line is going to play in front of the stage before she actually starts talking," explained band Co-Capatain Andrew Smart. He continued, "So we're going to be there to pump up the crowd."

More than the opportunity in itself, there's also the educational experience that comes with playing at the rally, no matter where you stand politically.

"The kids get to be part of the democratic process and see that they're right here in the arena with someone who may be the second most important person in the free world," says Band Director Kelly Hardman Parker.
