TAMPA, Fla. - Playing cards could crack open cold cases across the state and here in Southwest Florida.
A brand new deck full of 52 different cold cases was released in Tampa Friday.
WINK News got a first look at the third edition of local cases on the cards, and you'll see some familiar cases like Coralrose Fullwood.
Her suspected killer was caught this month, but police think more people may have been involved.
Each cold-case card has information about unsolved murders and missing persons.
They'll be given to more than 200,000 offenders in jails and on probation right here in Southwest Florida and across the state.
Detectives hope the cards generate talk and tips that will be passed on to authorities.
"Inmates are a perfect target group because they're there all day, they're in a contained place and can't go out," Trish Routte with Southwest Florida Crimestoppers says. "So oftentimes they'll play cards anyway. The idea came out that if they're going to be playing cards anyway, what's a good way to get some information on unsolved crimes in front of them."
You may remember, the last time the state did this it led to an arrest in a 2004 Fort Myers cold case.
