UPDATE: Death investigation in San Carlos Park

By WINK News

UPDATE
LEE COUNTY, Fla. - WINK News now knows the name of a woman found dead early Friday morning in San Carlos Park. The body of 25-year-old Tia Poklemba was found in the middle of the road by a newspaper delivery person. How she died or who's responsible is still unknown.

ORIGINAL STORY
LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Lee County Deputies are investigating a death in San Carlos Park on the 1800 block of Pioneer Road.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office tells WINK News that a newspaper delivery person found the body of a woman in the middle of the street around 2:30 Friday morning.

The San Carlos Fire Department had to pressure wash the area, because there was so much blood from the victim.

Neighbors are wondering what has become of their small, quiet neighborhood. They say there aren’t any street lights outs. Now they're concerned whether or not this woman's body was dumped here or whether she was killed here. They say, either way, it is a tragedy, but they're hoping that their neighborhood is indeed safe.

Lee County sheriff office is asking for your help. If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

I new this girl in high school, she was so outgoing and friendly. I remember in school, she always smiled and was happy. Noone deserves this, and the "person of interest" will be caught; he can run but he certainly cannot hide.

I;'m surprised that the fire dept. was allowed to wash down the street. Isn't blood considered to be a hazardous waste? I would think a better solution would have be to oil dry the area and have an environmental clean up service remove the waste.
