CAPE CORAL, Fla.- It's been a little more than a week since Officer Andrew Widman was shot and killed in Downtown Fort Myers.
The community continues to give to the family he left behind.
A car wash fundraiser took place Saturday morning outside the auto-zone on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral.
Volunteers holding signs flagged down drivers to get their car washed.
One hundred percent of all the donations raised will go to the Andrew Widman Memorial Fund.
Organizers tell us they raised $2,500 dollars in just a couple of hours.
Organizer Lidia Mino says, "My husband is a police officer and I think it's a great thing to be doing right now to support. Those three kids are going to grow up without a father so every little bit we can do anything helps."
