PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - Charles Jackson Friedlander, a Fort Myers therapist, was arrested late Monday night in Pinellas County.
Friedlander was allegedly going to meet a Pinellas area adult who had agreed to give him access to two 12 year old children. According to detectives, it was Friedlander's intent to sexually abuse the children.
According to the Sheriff's Crimes Against Children (C.A.C.) detectives, Friedlander is a licensed mental health therapist who works and lives in Fort Myers.
C.A.C. detectives, in an undercover capacity, became aware of Friedlander through Internet contact. Friedlander thought he was talking to an adult who had access to two 12 year old children who were going to be made available to Friedlander for alleged sexual abuse. Friedlander drove up from Fort Myers Monday night to the pre-arranged location and was arrested.
The arrest culminates a one month investigation.
Charles Friedlander has been a Call for Action volunteer for a number of years but is not employed by Fort Myers Broadcasting.

We should start doing what some of the other countries do and we wouldnt have half as much crime. You steal get your hand cut off or fingers. You hurt our children then you should get the electric chair.

well it goes to show you that people out there today will do anything to a child make sure you protect your own if it were mine and i found out there would be no jail safe enough for him to stay in this is why the islands way out at sea should be used to house people like this .

What is so shocking about a therapist being arrested for this? After all, a lot of therapists are about on even keel with their clients. The only thing that separates the two, is one can legally hang a shingle where their clients cannot. Lets face it, therapists try to "help" clients where they, themselves, failed to get help.

I am sure this guy is a sex offender who never had been registered. We need laws to register everyone, because sometime in the future many people will commit these types of crimes. I am sure the law will protect him though!
