LEE COUNTY, Fla. - The formal investigation into the Lee County manager is on hold, for at least 2 weeks.
WINK News has confirmed, that county leaders have decided they should have a formal vote of commissioners, to authorize a look into Don Stilwell's investments.
The manager has said he put $200-thousand dollars into companies, run by his son-in-law, who's now charged with defrauding investors.
Commissioners want to know, did Stilwell knowingly invest money in property that the county might need for a road? And did he mislead commissioners, when questioned about his investments?
The special meeting to authorize the investigation is supposed to be held, in two weeks.
