Police: Bank robbery suspect confesses

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers Police say they have an arrest and a confession in an afternoon bank robbery.

Police say 28-year-old Terry McClelland is accused of holding up the SunTrust Bank on Metro Parkway, near Colonial Boulevard. The bank was robbed shortly before closing Monday.

Witnesses say the man ran to a nearby hotel and asked for a cab, but when police showed up, he ran. A K9 was used to track him to a canal where he was arrested.

this guy took a plea today to 30 months in prison and no probation. the plea was worked out by his attorney, john evans, of fort myers.
