Missing endangered adult

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Detectives of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office are asking the public's help in locating Danny Paul Mordenti, 23, a missing endangered person, who was last seen May 22.

Mordenti has been staying with his 86-year-old grandmother, Ethel-Jo A Kerwer, in the Pirate Harbor community, south of Punta Gorda. Mordenti had previously lived in Spring Hill, Florida, but has not been see there either.

Mordenti has various medical issues and has not been seen or heard from the past three weeks. His grandmother said when he left, he did not take his medications, his cell phone, has not used credit cards, and was very active with his e-mail and MySpace account but there has been no activity since he disappeared.

Mordenti is a white male, black hair, brown eyes, goatee, 5 foot 8 inches tall, 135 pounds and has multiple tattoos on both shoulders.

The day he disappeared, a CCSO K-9 bloodhound followed a track about a quarter mile but it ended. Deputies and the CCSO helicopter also searched the area which turned up nothing. Mordenti was entered as an endangered missing adult into the state and national systems. Detectives have been checking with friends and acquaintances and none reported seeing or hearing from him. Mordenti was arrested May 20 on a charge of Loitering and Prowling on Eifel Terrace in Port Charlotte after calls of someone attempting to break into vehicles. Mordenti was taken to the Charlotte County Jail and bonded out May 21. He reportedly had become very depressed and disappeared the next day.

Anyone who may have information concerning Mordenti since his disappearance May 22 is asked to call Detective Dwayne Tucker at the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office at 941-639-0013.
