SWFL State Representative facing ethics complaint

By WINK News

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - A Southwest Florida State Representative who's facing an ethics complaint is refusing to talk about the charges against him.

Republican Paige Kreegel is accused of encouraging an aide to lie about public records request and collect information on a political challenger on state time.

“Remember that the process needs to work its way out, and I shouldn't really prejudice it with a comment,” said Kreegel.

Just last week, House Speaker Marco Rubio named a panel of five house members to investigate the complaint against Kreegel.

Ethics are very important and an ethical / legal question I have been asked recently is this, "are elected Florida state senate members who vote yea on a bill which requires a public or private corporation to be awarded a contract within the state of Florida allowed to vote without a conflict of interest when they or their family members own stock in that corporation? If any reader has a link to an answer please email me at george@lovenguth,org Thank you.
