CAPE CORAL, Fla. - New details this morning about a southwest Florida man arrested for allegedly throwing an underage house party where alcohol was present.
Police say more than one hundred teens were drinking at the Cape Coral home when they arrived over the weekend.
The party was for a 17-year-old who is leaving to join the army.
Police arrested the teen's father, Quang Bui for allowing minors to drink in his home.
We talked with Bui after he was released from jail.
He says he came home to a party in full swing without his approval.
His daughter says she thinks the arrest is unfair.
Quang Bui, the father, is charged under Florida's house party statute which basically says you can't allow minors to drink in your home...period.
And here's another warning for parents as prom and graduation season approaches.
If a teen has been drinking in your home, leaves and causes an accident, the person in control of the home where the party took place could be deemed legally responsible for the damages.

The girl is a little snot, she should at the very least say she is sorry to her father on tv, or something. And if she is 17 then i dont think she can smoke or vote yet. so she needs to get her act together before she is a part of the US military!

I believe that someone should definately be held responsible. If,however, the parent is coming home from work, or where ever, and comes to the party being held, without his permmission, then hold the teen respondsible. The teen in this story says "its stupid because she can go to war and vote but can't drink?" Well own up to the fact that she broke the law. Why didn't she say, my dad had nothing to do with this. I am the one that allowed this party. Why did she not be adult enough then?

Mr. Bui is saying that he was not aware of this party, but still allowed the teenagers to party. He should have shut down the party as soon as he noticed all the blue clubs and over a hundred kids in his house.

I watched the news report on t.v. last night and this teenage girl seemed to me to be very smug about the whole thing. The father obviously does not have much control over her.Every decent parent knows you do not let a 17 yr old have a party without adult supervision.I bet alot of the parents of those other kids were pretty p.o.'d
