EAST NAPLES, Fla. - An all day swat team standoff in Collier County ends with the suspect taken away by ambulance tonight.
A total of three people are in the hospital and at least one of them is facing charges.
22-year-old Rolando Quintana, Jr. was escorted to the hospital by police after spending 12 hours holed up inside an East Naples home.
The standoff started around 7:30 this morning when Anton Refregier says Quintana, his neighbor, broke into his house.
"I came back and realized that the house had been ransacked and my belongings were missing," Refregier told WINK News.
Around that same time the Collier County Sheriff's Office says they got a call that a man had shown up at the hospital with a gun shot wound. They say that man is Quintana's father, and that his son shot him in the home on Rose Apple Lane where the suspect held police off until 7:30 tonight.
"They used an explosive device to open the door and he came out peacefully," according to Collier County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Jamie Mosbach.
Quintana and a woman who was also in the home were both taken to local hospitals to be evaluated.
At this time, quintana's is the only one facing charges.
"He is not charged at this time with the burglary, but he is being charged with domestic violence and aggrivated battery.," Mosbach said.
Authorities are still investigating the burglary.
They are also investigating the woman's role in the standoff, and depending on what that is, she coul face charges as well.
