FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY - The FGCU Eagles have won the Atlantic Sun Baseball regular season championship.
The Eagles swept East Tennesse State University on Saturday in a doubleheader. Those two wins clinch the regular season championship for the Eagles.
The Eagles won game one 9-5 and game two 6-2.
This is the Eagles first season playing in the Atlantic Sun, and now thier first Division One conference championship.
Due to NCAA rules, the Eagles are not allowed to advance to the NCAA or Atlantic Sun tournament. That is because the Eagles are new to Division One and are in what is a called a "Reclassifying Period."
