UPDATE: 2 Estero residents die in plane crash

UPDATE:
GREENE COUNTY, NC - WINK News has new developments in this deadly plane crash. Estero residents Mark Sobel and Joan Wilson were the only passengers. They died when their plane crashed into a farm field in western Greene County North Carolina.

Investigators with the federal aviation administration arrived there today to handle the review of the crash to determine what happened.

A piece of one of the plane's wings landed outside an assisted living center more than a mile from the crash site.




GREENE COUNTY, NC - WINK News has video of a deadly plane crash. The plane took off from Page Field.

Police have not identified the victims, but say two people died when a homebuilt airplane went down in field in North Carolina.

The plane was heading to Connecticut.

We’re hearing from emergency officials that the pilot reported he had ice forming on the wings, but the plane disappeared from radio and lost contact.

We will bring you any new details as we get them.
