SOUTHWEST, Fla -- Boarded windows and notices left on doors, all the tell-tale signs of abandoned homes. In East Fort Myers, along a 12 square block area, about 45 of them sit. The homes are either empty, abandoned or condemned. Some house's have even been declared unsafe, but yet still stand.

According to the city, they can't afford to tear them down.

People who live around the house's say something needs to give.
