OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida homeowner made a gruesome discovery after tree trimmers cut back the branches of an overgrown tree. A partially mummified body had been hanging in the tree apparently since last year.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the remains likely belong to someone who committed suicide. Foul play is not suspected.
The homeowner spotted a skull suspended about five feet off the ground Friday after tree trimmers cut back the tree's branches. Glenn Parker of Oakland Park says investigators are trying to determine if the remains could be those of his former roommate, who disappeared about a year ago.
