Fake valet employee!

By Nicole Papageorge

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - If you valet park be on alert!

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says a woman visiting her husband at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte got taken by a fake valet employee!

According to reports, the woman handed a ticket to the man, but he never returned with her car.

The valet company says it's crucial to make sure the person you're giving your receipt to is an employee.

"There should be some method of identification whether it be an I.D. badge or an actual uniform shirt," says Curt Tripp of Healthcare Parking Systems of America. "If they don't have that i would ask security or some other person to assist them."

Investigators are looking for a black, 2001 Ford Explorer Sport-Trac. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
