Publix recall of empanadas

LAKELAND, Fla. - Publix has issued the following recall:

Publix Super Markets, of Lakeland, Fla. is issuing a voluntary recall on all codes of prepackaged 2 and 4-pack apple, pineapple, pumpkin empanadas sold in retail bakeries due to the undeclared milk ingredient. The product was sold in a variety of different containers, Publix said in a statement.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product, Publix said.

The recall affects Collier and Lee Counties in Florida. In Georgia it affects Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinett, Hall and Houston Counties. It also affects Davidson County in Tennessee.

Customers who have purchased the product may return it to their store for a full refund or replacement.
