Charlotte County, Fla. - WINK News looked through the personnel file of a band director arrested on charges of sex abuse and found that he has a long history with the Charlotte County School District.
Dale Bowe is accused of performing oral sex on a 15-year-old male student without the teen's permission. The abuse allegedly took place at Bowe's residence on January 2.
Bowe was hired as the Port Charlotte High School band director last August, but he's worked as a volunteer in several schools since 1986, and also worked as a substitute teacher.
He worked as a volunteer assistant band director at Murdock Middle School, Charlotte High School, Lemon Bay High School in addition to Port Charlotte High School.
Nothing in Bowe's file indicates that he's had a history of sex crimes, and Wink News has not uncovered any previous arrest record.
The arrest report also mentioned allegations of abuse while Bowe was in Orlando with students.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said they forwarded that information to the Orlando Police Department for further investigation, but Orlando Police claim they are not aware of any information.
