PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office has arrested the Port Charlotte High School Band Director. Dale Bowe was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of sexual assault on a victim under 18 years of age charges.
WINK News reporter Joe Capasso was the only reporter to be at Bowe's house Saturday afternoon. When knocking on the door, nobody answered, but neighbors are shocked.
According to a Charlotte County Sheriff Office report, deputies are accusing Bowe of one count of sexual battery. Report says a student reported falling asleep in hot tub at Bowe's home. The 15 year old student then woke-up to Bowe performing sex act on him.
The report also details another incident of possible sexual battery with 16-year-old on a trip to Orlando. Bowe was was not arrested for that accusation, but now the Orlando Police Department is investigating that claim.
Bowe has posted a $75,000 bond and is out of jail.
We left a message with the Charlotte County School District's public information officer for a comment, but he has not returned our phone calls.
Bowe was named exceptional volunteer at Port Charlotte High School three years ago. He was named the Band Director just five months ago.
Bowe's arraignment date is set for early March.
