SEAN TAYLOR MURDER: Probe moves to Fort Myers

Sean Taylor murder probe in Ft. Myers

By WINK News and The Associated Press

UPDATE:
Lee County, Fla. - Sources close to the investigation tell WINK News that Sean Taylor's brother and sister may know one or more of the suspects detained in connection with the murder.

Four suspects are currently detained, but others, possibly from Southwest Florida, may be involved.

Two of those suspects have been identified as 17-year-old Eric Rivera and 18-year-old Charles Wardlow. Both have arrest records in Lee County.

Detectives say fingerprints led police to the suspects in Southwest Florida.

At least six Miami homicide detectives are in Fort Myers working the case, along with multiple Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents.

MIAMI (AP) - Police have detained at least three people in the Fort Myers area for questioning in the death of Washington Redskins football star Sean Taylor, a newspaper reported Friday.

The Miami Herald said on its Web site that investigators believe the suspects learned of Taylor's house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by bragging about his wealth.

The suspects include a teenager and two men in their 20s from the Fort Myers area, the paper reported.

But Miami-Dade County police Detective Carlos Maura told The Associated Press he was not aware of anyone in custody. He said only that detectives were in the Fort Myers area for a case, but declined to say which one.

Taylor was shot at his home in the Miami area early Monday during what police called a random burglary. He died a day later from his injuries.
