SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - WINK News is learning that a family believes the body pulled out of a Cape Coral canal is their loved one.

Teresa Ruiz believes it was her fiancée 24-year-old Michael Huertas that was pulled from a Cape Coral canal. Emotional and heartbroken, she is trying to deal with what happened.

Police believe Huertas may have been drinking when he drove his car across a vacant lot and into the canal. They are waiting on toxicology reports.

The family is trying to raise money for Huertas' funeral and a fund for the children. An account has been set up at the Wachovia on Del Prado.
