Baseball slugger Hank Aaron's mother passes away

By The Associated Press

ATLANTA (AP) - A sad time for baseball Hall of Fame member Hank Aaron.

His mom has died. Estella Aaron was 96 and an assistant to Hank Aaron says she died Monday in an Atlanta hospital.

The funeral is set for Saturday in Mobile, Alabama, where she lived for most of her life. She and her husband Herbert had eight children, two of whom went on to become major league baseball players.

In addition to Hank, Tommie Aaron played for both the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves. He died in 1984.
