MIAMI (AP) - Singer Enrique Iglesias said he wasn't ready to get married, and then surprised a news conference by letting a female television reporter kiss him on the lips.

During Latin music's "Premio Lo Nuestro" awards last night in Miami, Iglesias was asked by America TV reporter Mayi Salas if she could come close to him to kiss him. He agreed, to the surprise of the assembled journalists.

Salas, who was wearing a blue wig, said: "This is for history."

Iglesias later said he "loved children but wasn't ready to be a father." He said he wasn't ready to get married, because today people can live together without being married.

Enrique Iglesias begins a tour of Mexico and the U.S. in April.

The singer is the son of legendary Spanish singer Julio Iglesias.
