SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - Did you get your Economic Stimulus check yet?
I checked the IRS website for a date. Then, on Monday, I anxiously checked my bank account. The Economic Stimulus check wasn't deposited yet. I noticed on our website
www.winknews.com we're getting a LOT of feedback from people wondering the same thing.
So I called the IRS, and in case you're wondering where your money is, here's the answer.
The IRS has revised some of the "language" about how they are releasing the money. If you're scheduled for the May 5th deposit date, the website now says they will have it transmitted no later than May 9th. So you could get it before the 9th, but the latest they'll send it is the 9th.
You can go to the IRS website and type in your info, and it will tell you when it should arrive and if you haven't received it by a certain date, you need to call them and ask where your money is.
www.irs.gov However, they say remember banks have different policies about when they record deposits. For instance, I know at Bank of America they record direct deposits and withdrawals at midnight. So if the IRS deposit any time today, it will show up in the account tomorrow.
The IRS says they are getting some "feedback" from people who haven't received theirs, but not a lot. They sent out 7 million payments last week.

I used the free H N R Block program online and had the fee deducted out of my checking account. I have already received my stimulus check by direct deposit. So it all depends on what you used. If you are claimed as a dependent on someone elses taxes you will not get a check on matter how long you have worked.

After waiting weeks for our money we finally got through to the IRS on the phone. They said since we originally went through H R BLOCK our tax refund went to their account, they took out the money we owed for them to do our taxes, THEN H RBLOCK deposited the check into our account. The IRS considers this as having it paper mailed thus we now have to wait until the 23rd for the IRS to mail us a check. How screwed up is this!!

I found out through calling the IRS that if you do your taxes by e-file or tax act or one of these sites and you choose to have the fees deducted from your return YOU WILL GET A PAPER CHECK Even if you chose to do direct deposit... My last 2 digits of SSN are 26 and I filed before April 15. I had to pay this year but I used e-file and gave the IRS my bank information - they withdrew the money within 2 days. Why should it matter if I had to pay or received a refund? It shouldn't - the IRS has my bank information. Not to mention, unless you had the simplest of returns for just federal, you HAVE to use a third party to e-file. Will I receive my stimulus check via direct deposit by May 9th? I should have received my stimulas also I called and was told that since I filed it using HRBlock and used the direct deposit that my check would be mailed to me May 23rd because the HRBlock direct deposit is not open all the time for them to receive an electronic submission from the IRS. I also called irs and found out that if you used a third party to file that you will receive the check in the mail. I informed them that that wasn't what was said and that they need to get their story straight. This was supposedly told to them the end of last week. And when they get information,they relay it to us as consumers. If anyone out there was told this why wasn't everyone else. They are not being very informative about these checks. Whenn your on the website " Where's my refund?" be sure to count yourself as a dependant. I was entering 2 for my children and it was giving me the " I am sorry" however once I read it carefully and entered 3 (added myself) Bam it came up. On a posative note a lady at work kids got their direct deposit already so they are coming. Mine is scheduled for May 9th as well. I have a strong feeling it will not be there Friday.

I am on SSDI. I have Direct deposit. My SS digits fall within the 00-20 range. But I didn't have the info I needed on how or what form to use until the middle of march. I found out if you did not file six weeks before the 15th of April, you will not get your stimulus by the schedule date.

Yes, even if you paid taxes you will still recieve a check. The only time you don't get one is if you do not qualify with income filed, or if you did not file at all.
