WINK NEWS - Rod Shoap is trying to defeat Incumbent Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott in the Republican primary.

Scott defeated Shoap in 2004 for Sheriff. Shoap had served one term as Sheriff.

The winner of the race between Scott and Shoap will face No Party Affiliated candidate Christian Meister in the November 4th election.
