Former Congressional & Lee County Sheriff candidate arrested

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Robert M. Neeld, who has run for office five times in Southwest Florida, has been arrested by Cape Coral Police.
Police reports show Neeld was taken into custody on charges of DUI and resisting an officer.
Neeld ran for Congress against Rep. Connie Mack in 2004, 2006 and 2008. He also ran for Lee County Sheriff in 1996 and 2000. Neeld has lost all of those races.
Booking reports from the Lee County Sheriff's Office show Neeld was booked into the Lee County Jail Saturday at 1:56 AM. He was released from jail about 12 hours after his booking.
The report shows Cape Coral Police arrested Neeld on Misdemeanor Resisting an Officer Without Violence and Misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence charges.
