Obama taunts McCain after McCain mocks him

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - Barack Obama has been pushing back at criticism of his remark that keeping tires inflated can help save gasoline.

He said John McCain mocked that suggestion, only to later admit it works. In Obama's words, "It will be interesting to watch this debate between John McCain and John McCain."

The Illinois senator has been campaigning in Indiana with Senator Evan Bayh, who's considered a top prospect for Democratic running mate. The joint appearance led to much speculation that Obama might announce his choice for vice president. But it did not happen.
