LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A major boat dealer is investing millions of dollars in the local economy.

MarineMax is buying a marina and moving its sales, service and storage operations there.

It’s located along McGregor Boulevard, north of the Gulf Harbour community.

The 24 acres at Deep Lagoon is an area that MarineMax used to lease.

It’s expected to be a major development for boating in Southwest Florida.

The previous developer had plans to make the area a boating destination, but could not complete the plans during the recession.

Now, with MarineMax, the place is harkening on a new future.
