Students at the Goodwill L.I.F.E. Academy are hosting a "Treasure Sale" Fundraiser on April 8-12 at the Fort Myers School (3365-D Seminole Ave.). A Collier County Public Schools' early dismissal day for the 2012-2013 school year is set for Tuesday (March 26). The early dismissal time for elementary, middle, and high school students is three hours earlier than the dismissal time on other days. Join Edison & Ford Winter Estates horticulturists on March 21, 2013 for Citrus Day at Edison Ford. Throughout the day a collection of different citrus plants, including calamondins, will be available for purchase in the Edison Ford Garden Shoppe and a series of FREE workshops will begin at 11 a.m. The Edison and Ford families enjoyed citrus and grew many varieties in their Southwest Florida gardens. The families enjoyed eating their homegrown fruits, sold them locally, and shipped them up North to friends and family. At the turn of the last century, citrus in pots outdoors and indoors was "the rage." Both Mrs. Edison and Mrs. Ford had areas at their northern estates called "orangeries" where they cultivated the plants in pots. Today there are dozens of varieties in the Edison Ford gardens.

FGCU has an allotment of 550 tickets for the NCAA Tournament, and must purchase a minimum of 350 tickets, with Eagles Club members having first priority through noon on Tuesday. US Business 41 Expansion Project from Littleton Road to US 41, Lee County Public Information Meeting, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 19 The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information meeting about the project planned to expand Business 41 to four lanes from Littleton Road to US 41. The meeting will be held in an "open house" format from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Northside Baptist Church, 8250 Littleton Road, North Fort Myers. Project improvements include widening the existing two-lane road to a four-lane roadway with two 11-foot lanes in each direction. A 44-foot grass median separates northbound and southbound lanes. The project also adds highway lighting, sidewalk, and bike lanes, and builds a new drainage system to manage water running off the roadway.
