Senator's Statements: Step Down Or Apology Accepted?

By WINK News

Senator Harry Reid is under fire for making a racially charged remark during the 2008 Presidential campaign. The statement is becoming public in a new book out Monday called "Game Change". Sen. Reid said at the time, Barack Obama could win the democratic ticket because he is a "light skinned" African American that does not speak with a "negro dialect".

Reid apologized to the President and he accepted, but what do you think?

Should Sen. Reid step down as Republicans are asking or is the apology enough?

The level of hypocracy demonstrated by the democrats is at once both utterly appalling and completely predictable. They never hold themselves to any standard of legal or moral conduct, yet would pillary any republican for far less. If there weren't a democrat monopoly of power in Washington, he'd be packing his bags now.

Yes, he should step down and he should be arrested for the deals he is making on the healthcare bill. Trent removed himself, so should Reid

Give me a break! My guess is behind closed doors most white Americans would whole-heartedly agree with Reid!

No, Sen. Reid should not step down. It wasn't a degrading statement. I'm so tired of people trying to make something out of nothing.

There is a double standard because if a republican said that they would be asking for their head. I blame the news media for making a big deal out of nothing to start with. As far as a "Black Dialect" I never heard another countries black people talk like they do in this country. There is no such thing as a black dialect to start with. It is an American Black trait only.

Republicans need to get a life. If the president forgave him than it should be over.
