I think the presidents speech was great. The opponents are evidently afraid of Obama. What Florida ecucation needs is to rid itself of the F-cat mentality, which teaches kids How to pass the f-cat test. As if this Knowledge is going to keep him from being "left behind"

I think the people on the school boards should go back to school to learn something. Stoping the kids from hearing the president was the most stupid thing I heard of in a long time.

My mother and I both watched the Obama speech on youtube and found it very inspirational. In fact, i think that Obama is the only president to ever address students in this way. To all badmouthers trying to make everything Obama does into a race issue or a political arguement, seriously get a clue. I actually think Obama sounded just like a father does when they talk to their children. Wake up America it's the children who we need to look up to and have faith in to bring our Country back.

I am appalled that this question would even be asked, and even more so that the Lee County School District did not show the speech to their students! The speech is utterly harmless, encouraging students to do well!

The loyal opposition has the political agenda and is accusing its targets of its own misdeeds. Fear, uncertainty and doubt have gone a long way in the past to dupe the naive public. There are those who know accessing deep seated emotions will nullify logic and reason. I would ask that we all look before we leap to detrimental conclusions. Hearing only one side of a story is prejudice personified.

I appreciate having WINK news come out to my school to view the President's speech to students today. As was evidenced by the viewing, everything he said was pertinent and very helpful to students. Students cannot receive enough motivation and encouragement these days. Many of my students are from single parent homes and within the poverty level. The speech today encouraged them to keep faith in themselves and not allow any one or anything to determine their destiny.

I have listened to our President's Speech today and not once did I hear a bad remark pointed towards our children. These parents that are keeping their children home so they do not have to listen to our President's speech is sending two messages to their children: 1. If your child does not like the teacher or subject they will face that day okay you don't have to go to school. 2. Your teaching your child not to respect people in authority then how to you expect them to respect you.

I feel that the wide spread objection to the President's speach to our greatest assest shows the true spirit of our country. Why is it that so many so called learned people can't accept the fact that a man of color can have something positive to say to all school age children without haveing a hidden agenda? But we are going to be the world leader of freedom and truth. This country needs to take a good look in the mirror.

I listened to a mother's opinion on the newscast this morning and am outraged that this mother believes that because her child is in private school the information in the speech does not apply. What ever happened to teaching our children empathy and gratitude for their own personal blessings in their life. My opinion is it would be a good thing for these priviledged children to learn that they are lucky and to learn that others are not. Maybe then when they grow up they would more caring adults

I just read the speech posted on the White House website. There is nothing political in it! It is an inspirational message that all school age youth should hear at the beginning of the year. The fear, uncertainty and distrust that has been generated by the loyal opposition and the press is what is unacceptable!

I think Wink news even asking this question is embarrassing!! This is the President of the United States, of course it is innocent and completely acceptable. All of those people putting an evil spin on this should be ashamed of themselves. Americans need to educated themselves on the facts, not scare tactics.
