You laid off 35 firefighters in Lehigh and X amt. of police officers. Did the Mayor and council take a 10% Pay Cut like they asked their employees to do?? If not why not? What do the current candidates think should be done to rectify this outrageous situation???

Ms. Persons...The City of Fort Myers Rules and Regulations states that you must reside in the City of Fort Myers at least 12 months before you can qualify to run for Mayor. From what the citizens understand is that you relocated from North Fort Myers in October 2008 to your new First Street address in the City of Fort Myers. If that is the case, can you prove that you actually resided in Fort Myers at your new location for one year prior to announcing your candidacy and swearing under oath?

Cape Coral...would you support a referendum that would limit annual spending increases in the operating budget to no more than the Social Security cost of living adjustment, plus/minus the percentage of city population growth/recession?

Cape Coral, The FAC stated that ISO ratings are the driving force for insurance rates in reference to fire insurance. Cape Coral has an ISO rating of #3. The FAC said that a rating of 9 is the level where insurance rates go up. Using this premise, do you think Cape Coral is OVER-STAFFED AND OVER-EQUIPPED in the Fire/Safety department. If No, Why not? If Yes, what do you plan to do about it?

(2) What should be the millage rate necessary to satisfy that budget cap? (3) Would you support a Public Service Tax to subsidize current revenue streams? If NO, why not? Cape Coral, The city owes 500 million dollars in bonds due to the construction of the Reverse Osmosis Complex in Cape Coral. 1. What is your PLAN to pay this bill? 2. By what date do you plan to have this debt satisfied? 3. Will you curtail or eliminate unnecessary social programs to ensure adequate transportation and safety programs? If you answer yes, what social programs would you cut first?
