IMMOKALEE, Fla. - Some workers at the Seminole Casino in Immokalee say they're nervous they could lose their jobs.

The state legislature has agreed to remove table games from three casinos including the one in Immokalee.

In February, the casino unveiled a $22 million renovation. They also hired 600 new employees. The casino now boasts more than 1,000 slot machines and 38 table games.

"I'm afraid of what I'm gonna do now," said casino dealer Vital Albert. "I've been working here for seven years."

But, the tribe says they don't expect any layoffs and actually want the casino to grow. Still, some fans of the table games want them to stay.

"That's one of the draws that bring money into the state," said patron Ron Beck. "If they take that away they're going to lose a factor they otherwise would have."

Other people say the games are trouble.

"My husband's a gambler and we've gone down big time since they've been here," said Vanessa Rodriguez.

Under the agreement between the legislature, casinos in Broward County and one in Tampa will keep table games. Casinos in Immokalee, Brighton and Coconut Creek won't.

"I think if they're going to have them anywhere, we ought to have them here also," said patron William Cobleigh.

The tribe says they may move workers to other casinos around the state or move them to other jobs in entertainment or restaurants.

The legislature is scheduled to vote on the measure on Friday.
