EYE ON YOUR HEALTH: Perfect 10 Workout

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Working out can be time consuming, and in some cases expensive. There are a lot of choices when it comes to fitness gadgets, diets, and routines, but is their a simple one that actually works? WINK News decided to find out.

Health Reporter Jennifer Stacy went to trainer James Vaughn, owner of "A New You Health and Fitness" in Ft. Myers. Vaughn says if you're looking to tone up, there's no need for expensive equipment or major time commitments. Instead, stick with a simple, but very effective workout Vaughn calls the "Perfect 10"--ten moves you can do in under 30 minutes.

Perfect 10 Workout

*Do 15-20 reps of each, using 5-10 pound weights, cans of soup, or anything that will offer resistance. Do one move after another without resting between to get cardio benefits.

Squats/Lunges

Push-ups

Sit-ups--use upper and lower abs

Shoulder Pulls

Skier Lunges

Shoulder Press

Arm raises

One Arm Row

Bicep Curls

Chair Dip


Vaughn recommends doing the Perfect 10 for a minimum of 4 days a week. Combine that with regular cardio workouts and a healthy diet low in calories and saturated fats.

"You're going to notice immediately that you'll have more energy," Says Vaughn. "You'll be able to do things you haven't been able to do before, you're clothes will start fitting you loosely as well."
