The students at Fort Myers Preparatory and Fitness Academy want the public to know they're thinking about their futures. The school held its first career day today.
The school, which has been open for just two years, is located on Edgewood Avenue in Fort Myers.
WINK-TV was among the businesses who talked to students about what it takes to be successful at work and in life.
Nurses from Lee Memorial Healthpark talked about careers in medicine and used medical gloves and equipment to give the students a hands on education on what they do every day. The students will also be hearing from businesses like Publix, The Florida Everblades, firefighters, police officers and veterinarians.
The students believe learning about careers this early in their schooling is important, because it will make them better people.
