Universities raise the bar for admissions

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Admission officers for Florida's public universities say admission standards are even higher than last year.

Admissions officers warned 600 guidance counselors at the University of South Florida that budget cuts will further cut into recruitment efforts and increase competition for a limited number of freshmen seats.
