FGCU makes millions in budget cuts

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - Florida Gulf Coast University's Board of Trustees approved $2.2 million in budget cuts on Tuesday.

The cuts will take affect for the upcoming school year.

The freshman class with feel the affects. The incoming class will be frozen at 1,850 students.

Student tuition is also going up 6%, which translates into about $150/student per year.

Staff jobs are safe at this point, but class sizes may grow and some degree programs could be put on hold.
