Bully bill makes it onto special order calendar in Florida Senate

By WINK News

The Jeffrey Johnston Act, also known as the bully bill, is the furthest it's ever been in the Florida Senate. WINK News learned late Tuesday night that the bill has made it onto Wednesday's special order calendar.

The bill has already passed the house, so if the bill gets a 3rd reading in the Senate it could go to a full vote as early as Wednesday. The legislative session ends on Friday.

The Jeffrey Johnston bill is name after a Cape Coral teenager who committed suicide after being harassed online. His mother, Debbie Johnston and a dozen Lee County students are in Tallahassee fighting for the passage of this bill.
