Naples guy builds quite a collection of classics.

By Judd Cribbs

Tom Baker owns Baker's Towing in Naples but his hobby is all about the classics.

He's compiled a collection of about 35 (conservative estimate) of classic cars, most of which he fixes up and all of which are ready to run.

The cars span the decades but many are clustered around the 1950s. He says he simply likes their simplicity. "They don't have computers on them. They take regular gas, there's eight spark plugs and a distributor and a carburetor and that's it. No power windows, most of them don't have air conditioning."

"I have more than I need," he says. Not that it's a problem, though. "It's still fun to collect them and people come in to look at them and get a big kick out of them."

If you'd like to stop by and see them in person, call 239-825-1307.
