Cape parks offering free fun in July

The Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department is offering up a slew of free activities during open houses every Saturday in July.

Each Saturday, two parks will feature free activities for families. One park will have an "open house" from 9 to 11am and the next park will schedule events from 1 to 3pm.

The series will kick off at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Saturday July 7th at 9am.

Activities there will include kayak "test-drives," beach tennis and a children's sand building contest.

The event is in celebration of national parks and rec month.
