Pirate Ship Made of Hair

Human hair

By Judd Cribbs

Fort Myers - Needless to day, a three-foot long replica of the "Black Pearl" made of human hair is something of a conversation piece.

The ship was made by Carlos Dimas after he was asked to build something artistic by a film crew making a documentary about artists.

"So I wanted to make something out of hair, naturally," says Dimas, who owns the "Hair By Carlos" salon in Fort Myers. "Three feet of that is my hair, cut off, and the clients have given me hair."

"The base (of the ship) is wire just to give it some flexibility. The rest is just hair sort of glue and sprayed and glued sprayed with bobbie pins, hair pins, over and over and over."

Of course, this must be seen to be believed, so watch the video ASAP.
