Fort Myers - The end of an era is at hand. Lou's Little Flea Market, a Fort Myers icon for 34 years, will soon be closing.
"We figure it's time," says Ruth Stubler. "While we're still able, we want to travel to see some things and do some things while we still can."
She and Lou plan to buy an RV and hit the road... and Lou says he still may sneak in a little antiquing. "Oh yes, he'll do it," says Ruth. "He'll never get it out of his blood. He's addicted to it."
As for all the stuff at the store on Palm Beach Boulevard? "We're going to liquidate as much as we can," says Ruth. "Once we get a contract on the building, we're going to have a couple auctions."
Then the doors will close.
"It's going to be emotional," says Ruth. "It's going to be sad. Everybody tells us, you can't close, you're an icon!"
