NAPLES, Fla. - The Naples Philharmonic is flying high.
Through Sunday, the Phil is staging "Cirque de la Symphonie," which combines orchestral music with cirque performers.
While the musicians play a variety of classical and contemporary music, acrobats, aerialists, strongmen and other performers will jump, juggle, fly and float above the stage.
Another hidden performance is also going on behind the curtain, as the acrobats are being guided through the air by stagehands pulling the cables.
Acrobat Alexander Streltsov, who was born in Russia, says the pullers have to be on top of things as the performers. "They guide us and it's not always a straight line," he says, "you have to land on a dime."
