Ace plays hand on "Survivor"

Naples resident on reality show

By Judd Cribbs, WINK News

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA -Naples resident Ace Gordon is back in Naples after spending 39 days in Gabon, Africa, as a contestant in the CBS reality show "Survivor."

Gordon says he wanted to see if he could pit himself "against the elements, the contestants, myself... and win."

Contestants on camera knew some unique "reality" environment was in store for them, as Gabon is billed as "Earth's Last Eden." "It was intense," says Gordon, "it really was an amazing experience."

Gordon, coming back from Africa last month, only would say he enjoyed the experience. Meanwhile, CBS, keeping with TV tradition, said he was not allowed to spill the beans on how he did.

He says he will be watching the show like everybody else, undeniably nervous and excited. He is curious about how the show will play out, realizing everything that happened in picturesque, exotic Gabon will not come across on screen.

"Survivor" airs on WINK-TV (CBS) tonight as a special two-hour premiere episode.
