Local guys aiming high

In national singing competition

By Judd Cribbs, WINK News

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lonza Bartlett and Michael Palomba are shooting for the stars.

They have qualified for the final in the Talent Quest national singing competition, being held in Laughlin, Nevada.

Palomba qualified in the Country category, Bartlett in the Contemporary category.

They are headed west this weekend, their trip paid for by Talent Quest because they won at the state level.

The two have become friends during the competition and looking forward to the nationals, where prize money and recording contracts are at stake.

"It challenges me," says Bartlett, who has been in this situation before. "When you're competing... you have to bring it." He says the level of talent will be great, but he hopes both of them can win.

WOW !!!...that's so great for these two young men. I just moved to the Fort Myers area from Miami and I've been trying for years to get into the entertainment industry for several years...preferably gospel singing. CSANDY305@MSN.COM
