SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - Sonic, which has three stores in Southwest Florida and will soon be opening four more, is looking for workers to staff the places... and any who can skate are welcome.

Sonic would like to have some skaters to work as car hops.

"They don't have to know how to skate to become a car-hop," says Rhonda Reitz, "but we have some who come here and want to learn to skate because the skaters have so much fun and make better tips. So it's an incentive."

Reitz says the restaurants have regular jobs available too.

Andre Gilliam, who car hops on skates, says it's a great part of the job. "It's much faster than walking," he says with a smile, "everyone's happy to see you on skates. They never see that anymore and it just keeps them coming back."
