Got tot?

How many tots can you eat?

By Judd Cribbs

Bar Louie restaurants across the country are holding their inaugural tater-tot eating contest April 17.

There are two Bar Louies in Southwest Florida (one at Edison Mall and one at Gulf Coast Town Center) and the contests are free to anyone over 18.

You just sign up (from 6 to 8pm) and then, at 8pm, you get six minutes to eat as many tater tots as you can. The tots are a popular side dish at Bar Louie's.

The winner gets a trophy and as many tater tots as you can eat in a year.

A paramedic will be on hand for any digestion issues and Bar Louie's Melissa Amoroso says contestants "have to keep the tots down for five minutes."

The event will be limited to 100 contestants. For more information, call the Bar Louie at Edison Mall 239-226-9500 or the one at GCTC 239-432-0389.
